Tour Details

A journey to Pisang Peak combines diverse features of the popular Annapurna region in term of ethnic groups and changing topography. A unique trek and demanding adventure climbing can be suitable only for the fit individuals wishing to take on an adventure of a lifetime. The Pisang peak rises from the yak pasture above the old Pisang village to the final summit in the uniform slope of snow and ice. The western flank guarded by glacier and a traverse to the whole summit ridge might offer you a considerable challenge on your way to summit. Mountain Monarch organize climbing clinic course briefed and instructed by experienced climbing Sherpa so that you acquire the necessary skills and confidence to summit the top. After the successful Pisang peak climb we trace our way to Pokhara via Throng pass and Jomsom.

Itinerary

Day 01 Arrive in Kathmandu (1337 m)

Welcome to Kathmandu, our tour manager will receive you at the airport and then transfer to hotel (20 mins drive). Our experienced tour manager will brief the whole tour with multimedia arrangements in the evening after dinner. You will have a pleasant sleep at Kathmandu overnight.

Day 02Kathmandu Sightseeing

Wake up call followed by tea, coffee, and breakfast. Our tour guide will take you to the famous Hindu temple SHREE PASHUPATINATH TEMPLE (world heritage site) and then BOUDHANATH STUPA (world heritage site). Return to the hotel and take lunch with half-hour rest. Afterward, we will move to KATHMANDU DURBAR SQUARE (world heritage site) and SWYAMBHUNATH STUPA (world heritage site). This day will end with the preparation of tour to Chitwan next day via tourist coach, overnight stay at Kathmandu.

Day 03Drive from Kathmandu to Beshishahar (823m) 6 to 7 hours.

Morning an interesting drive to Jagtat via Besishar town of about eight hours on the main Kathmandu-Pokhara highway following the Trisuli River for few hours then heading west to Dumre town, from here route diverts from the main highway towards North leading to Besishar town, from here heading further North West to Jagat village for overnight stop and to begin the trek.

Day 04Trek to Dharapani 1,920 m - 05 hours.

First day of walking is gradual passing the villages of Chamje and Tal besi, the walk offers tremendous views of landscapes along with views of Manaslu mountain towards East, walk follows the raging Marsyangdi river upstream till Dharapani village is reached for overnight stop, this village is located on the junction of Manang and Manaslu route.

Day 05Trek to Chame 2,670 m - 05 hours.

Today’s walk leads to a large town village at Chame, walk leads to a gradual up following the river Marsyangdi upstream passing number of villages of Bagachap, Danque, Ratmanang and Koto, walk leads through beautiful forest of pines and rhododendron trees with fascinating scenery of Annapurna II, Lamjung Himal and if Manaslu mountains, on reaching at Chame transfer to cozy nice lodges after a great day of trekking.

Day 06Trek to Pisang 3,230 m - 05 hrs.

After Chame entering the Manang region as the altitude increases walking through pleasant cool alpine woodlands and still following the Marsyangdi River upstream the morning walk is pleasant passing the villages of Bratang and Dukure Pokhari with views of Pisang and Chulu Peaks including Annapurna II and Annapurna IV in the distance then after five hours of good walk reaching at Pisang village for overnight stop.

Day 07Rest day at Pisang for acclimatization and local hike.

A necessary rest day at Pisang village for proper acclimatization and preparation for the adventurous climb of Pisang peak, here one can take a hike around and explore upper Pisang traditional village with grand scenery of close fantastic mountains views with Pisang & Chulu’s peaks.

Day 08Trek to Pisang Peak Base Camp 4,380 m - 04hrs.

After a refreshing day at Pisang village, morning leads to a climb passing upper Pisang village with overwhelming panorama views of mountains and Manang valley, walk carry’s on with a tough climb passing summer pasture and then reaching the first camping of this trip, in this scenic remote spot which will be the base camp to climb Pisang peak at an altitude of 4,380 meters with stunning panorama of Annapurna II, IV, Gangapurna, Tilicho peaks and of majestic Pisang Peak with Chulu peaks range in close distance.

Day 09Trek to Pisang Peak High Camp 5,400 m - 04 hrs.

To make this climb to Pisang Peak better and an extra camp is necessary, after this camp sorting and packing necessary equipment for the climb, and then start after early lunch and heading with a gradual climb on the south west ridge, then climb for an hour ahead up to set high camp at near 5,400 meters, rest of the afternoon at leisure while our guide will check the route of the climb to Pisang Peak for nest day.

Day 10Climb Pisang Peak 6,091m/19,980ft and to Base Camp - 08 hrs.

The highlight and aim of this great adventure starting very early before dawn and then climbing on snow slopes, can be quite steep with technical section in few sections to reach the summit of Pisang Peak; our guide will set the route and fixing ropes in necessary area for this great climb to the summit top, after the final ascend to the top of the summit with great spirit and feeling high, marvel the surrounding overwhelming views and descend back to base camp.

Day 11Reserve day in case of bad weather condition

An extra day as contingency or reserve day in case of unfavorable weather conditions, if all goes well this spare can be used on the way before Thorang-la or after to Jomsom.

Day 12Trek to Manang 3,520 m - 05 hrs.

After a great successful adventure to Pisang Peak, morning walk leads to a long descend Nagwal village, journey continues walking along the side of River Marshyangdi through Humde village with small airport.
From here on the gradual path to Braga village before reaching upper Manang village, from Braga village an hour walk leads to Manang this is a large thriving village, houses are of Tibetan traditional style like in Pisang.

Day 13Trek to Thorong High Camp 4,600 m - 06 hours.

Starting the morning walk to cross another famous and popular Thorang-la pass and heading to a high camp for overnight stop just 3 hours before the pass. Morning walk leads past several scattered temporary settlement of Ghunsang with gradual uphill walk to Yak Kharka, with stupendous scenery of snow capped peaks, and then crossing a river to Yak Kharka, offering superb views of Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Chulu Peaks, the walk gets near at the base of Thorang-la in Phedi, from here an hour of steep climb to High Camp for overnight stop and the last day in Manang area.

Day 14Cross Thorong-La 5,416 m and to Muktinath 3,800 m - 07 hrs.

Starting early morning to beat the strong wind which is normal in this high mountain country and to reach on time, walk leads to a gradual climb overlooking beautiful views of the snow capped peaks, continue walk with steep ascent (in snow condition the walk and finding path can be arduous job for the guides and porters) then slowly reaching the highest spot of this awesome adventure at Thorang la pass at 5,416 meters / 17,700 ft. The top offers amazing views of Thorang peak, Damadur and Bhirkuti peaks and overlooking at Mustang area.
After marveling the views a long descend to the bottom also known as Phedi where there is 2-3 teahouses, from here the walk is gentle for another two hours till Muktinath is reached for overnight stop. This is a holy place for Buddhist and Hindus, in auspicious time flood of pilgrims visit the Muktinath Temple premises.

Day 15Trek to Jomsom 2, 715 m - 04 hours.

After a hard day of previous day, today an easy downhill walk towards Jomsom at Kaligandaki river valley, on reaching the river bottom at the valley following the river to Jomsom a large town and the headquarter of Mustang district with an airport operates daily flight to Pokhara and to Kathmandu.

Day 16Fly to Pokhara and transfer to hotel.

(An option for a drive to Pokhara) From Jomsom airport morning scenic flight to popular tourist hub at Pokhara, Pokhara with its valley another great destination.
In Pokhara one can book for paragliding or short walk by the serene Phewa lake side.

Day 17Drive of fly back to Kathmandu.

An option here in Pokhara one take a short flight back to Kathmandu, or take a drive of six hours which is interesting passing many farm villages and towns and then reaching Kathmandu and transfer back to respective hotels.

Day 18Transfer to airport for international departure.

After a memorable and fantastic time with us and in the Nepal Himalaya, preparation for the final departure to the airport as per your international flight time, our staff will transfer you to the airport from this amazing Himalayan country Nepal.
