Itinerary

Day 01Arrival in Kathmandu (1,337m)

Upon arrival at the Kathmandu International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed with a garland. Transfer to the hotel and check-in. The day is free for your personal activity.

Day 02Kathmandu Sightseeing & Yatra Preparation

In the morning, visit Shri Pashupatinath Temple and the reclining statue of Lord Vishnu at Budhanilkantha Temple for Darshan. Return to the hotel for Lunch. Afternoon program briefing and yatra preparation.

Day 03Flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa (3650m)

Early morning transfer to Kathmandu International Airport for your scenic flight to Lhasa, 1 hour 5 minutes. The journey offers breathtaking aerial views of the Himalayan ranges, including a close encounter with the majestic Mt. Everest, and a glimpse of the vast Tibetan Plateau. Upon arrival at Gonggar International Airport, you will be greeted by our local representative and transferred to your hotel in Lhasa City. In the evening, take a leisurely walk to explore the charming streets of Lhasa, soaking in the unique Tibetan atmosphere.

Day 04Lhasa Cultural City Tour

Today, immerse yourself in the rich culture and history of Lhasa:
• Jokhang Temple – A revered pilgrimage site for Tibetans and an iconic symbol of Tibetan Buddhism, located in the heart of Lhasa.
• Sera Monastery – One of the three great Gelug Monasteries of Tibet, known for its stunning architecture and famous monk debates.
In the evening, explore the local market in Barkhor Square, where you can shop for unique Tibetan crafts and experience the vibrant atmosphere of the city.

Day 05Lhasa Cultural City Tour

Visit Lhasa’s most iconic cultural landmarks
• Potala Palace – A UNESCO World Heritage Site and the former winter residence of the Dalai Lama, this majestic palace is a masterpiece of Tibetan architecture and culture.
• Drepung Monastery – Once the largest monastery in Tibet, it offers stunning views of Lhasa and provides deep insight into Tibetan Buddhism and monastic life.

Day 06Lhasa to Shigatse (3800m)

Embark on a scenic drive from Lhasa to Shigatse (271 km, 8hours). The journey takes you along the historic Silk Road, offering stunning views of the Tibetan Plateau.
Upon arrival in Shigatse, visit the renowned Tashilunpo Monastery, one of the most important monasteries in Tibet, home to the Panchen Lama. Explore the surrounding area and take a brief tour of Shigatse City to experience local culture and architecture.

Day 07Shigatse to Saga (4610m)

After breakfast, drive to Saga (447 km, 8hours) along the historic Silk Road. Enjoy stunning views of nomadic Tibetan valleys, swirling hills, and the Great Himalayan Ranges. Cross the high-altitude Lablug-La (5050m) and the Brahmaputra River, often referred to as the “life-giver” in Tibetan culture.

Day 08Saga to Sacred Lake Mansarovar (4,560m)

Drive to Sacred Lake Mansarovar (478Km – 9hrs). Divine Darshana of the Sacred Lake Mansarovar and Parikrama. Darshana of Southern Face (Guru Mukh) of Mt. Kailash, Gurlaman-Daata Himalaya, Hor-Chu Gompa, Thu-Gu Gompa, Chiu–Gompa and Ravan Lake also called Rakshes Tal; during the Parikrama of Mansarovar Lake.

Day 09Lake Mansarovar to Darchen (4,670m)

The morning is free for spiritual activities. Have a divine darshan of Mansarovar Lake and Mount Kailash at dawn with Sunrise view over the sacred Lake Mansarovar. Perform Puja and Vedic Rituals for a deeper spiritual connection. Afterward, drive to Darchen (40 km, 1-2 hours), the base for the Kailash Parvat. Check into the hotel for rest and prepare for the holy Mt. Kailash Parikrama.

Day 10Darchen to Driaphuk (4,860m)

Drive to Yam-Dwar (20 minutes), the starting point of the Kailash Parikrama. Begin your trek to Diraphuk (12/13 km, 6 to 7 hours). Along the way, divine darshan of the west face of Mount Kailash and follow the river originating from the northern feet of the Mount Kailash. Upon reaching Diraphuk, take in the stunning views of Kailash Purna-Lingam, Nag (Vasuki) Sworupa and Diraphuk Gompa.

Day 11Driaphuk to Zhuthulphuk (4,760m)

Trek to Zhuthulphuk, covering 22 km in 9-10 hours, while crossing Dolma-La (5670m), the highest elevation of this Yatra. Along the way, Darshana of sacred sites of Shivasthali, Ganesh Kund, Ganesh Parvat and Gauri Kund, the sacred abode of Mata Parvati also regards as the navel of the Earth. As you descend, witness the stunning east face of Mount Kailash, which is revered as a Shree-Yantram, symbolizing divine energy and cosmic significance.

Day 12Zhuthulphuk to Saga

Trek for approximately 3 hours to complete the Kailash Parikrama. Upon reaching the end point of the Parikrama, you will be received by your vehicle and drive about 20 minutes to Darchen and further drive 7-8 hours to Saga.

Day 13Saga to Kathmandu

Drive to border via Kerung (approx. 4 to 5 hours). Complete border clearance and drive to Kathmandu via Timure.

Day 14Departure

Conclude your spiritual journey. Depart transfer for your further destination.

Additional Expenses

So far, the additional expenses out of the package cost for Kailash is hiring a personal horse and porter. Recently, the Tibetan authorities have implemented a rule for individuals who hire a personal horse for the 3-day Kailash Parikrama should also hire a personal porter. Advised to Carry Yuan 5000/ per person as additional expenses.
