From the visit of world heritage sites in Kathmandu; to the beautiful valley of Pohara, Mardi Base Camp Trekking is one of the unique trekking trail accomplished by few trekkers every year. The base camp is situated at the base of Mardi Himal covered with old Rhododendron forests on its way, from where you can view spectular scene of Mt. Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Mt. Annapuran South, Mt. Hiunchuli, Mt. Annapurna I, Mt. Mardi, Mt. Machhapuchhere, Mt. Gangapurna and more.

Itinerary

Day 01Kathmandu (1337m)

Welcome receive from international airport with garland. Transfer, check-in to the hotel, program briefing in the evening.

Day 02Kathmandu Sightseeing

After breakfast, start Kathmandu valley sightseeing including; Pashupatinath temple & Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple). Afternoon, visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Prepare all the necessary things for trekking, starting next day. Evening, welcome traditional dinner with culture dance.

Day 03Drive Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m) - 6 hours

After breakfast depart Pokhara by road journey. Check in to the hotel with welcome drink. Rest day self excursion. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 04Drive Pokhara to Kande and trek to Deurali (2200m) - 4 hours

After breakfast, drive an hour to reach to Kande and trek towards uphill for one and half hours till Australian Camp. Reach Pthana with a pleasant walk from Camp continuing another two hours gentle climb to reach Deurali. Overnight stay at Trekker’s Lodge.

Day 05Deurali to Low Camp (3,000m) - 7 hours

Leaving Deurali along with main Annapurna Sanctuary trail, head off the beaten trail towards Mardi Base Camp. Passing through a quite dense forest of Oak, Maple, Rhododendron and Hemlock for about 4 hours reach to forest camp for lunch. Trek heads towards Low Camp with a majority of Rhododendron forests covered with moss, lichen and tree ferns. Overnight stay at Trekker’s Lodge.

Day 06Low Camp to High Camp (3585m) - 6 hours

Start trek after breakfast for about one and half hours climb through the forest of Rhododendron towards Middle Camp. Continue to Badal Danda; A place with a magnificent view of Mt. Mardi, Mt. Annapurna South, Mt. Hiuchuli, Mt. Gangapurna, Mt. Machhapuchhre and more. Trek continues along the grassy ridge and some isolated bushes of Rhododendron of Mardi Himal (mountain) to reach High Camp. Overnight stay at Trekker’s Lodge with the splendid panoramic views of mountains.

Day 07High Camp to Mardi Base Camp (4500m) and back to Low Camp

Start trek early morning walking through fine grassy ridges towards Mardi Base Camp viewing Dzokpo (Yak/Cow crossbreds) grazing and Danphe (Pheasant). There are numbers of Herder’s Hut along the way as the sheep and goats from lower villages are brought here to graze in summer. Trek three hours to reach Mardi Base Camp; from where you can view magnificent Annapurna Sanctuary and panoramic arrangement of different mountains like Mt. Annapurna South, Mt. Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Mt. Hiunchli and more. Back to High Camp for lunch and descend to Low Camp. Overnight stay at Trekker’s Lodge.

Day 08Low Camp to Landruk (1565m) - 6 hours

Start trek after breakfast passing through a beautiful forest of Annapurna region as well as the occasional view of mountains on the way to Landruk; A smaller and plainer sister of Ghandruk with a large Gurung community with decent accommodation. Overnight stay at Trekker’s Lodge.

Day 09Landruk to Tadapani (2630m) -7 hours

Trek starts early morning after breakfast passing steeply terraced fields along Modi River, descending to Ghandruk Village. Afterward, head to Tadapani through dense forest with amazing views of a rural landscape, terraced field, farmland and view of mountains. Overnight stay at Trekker’s Lodge.

Day 10Tadapani to Ghorepani (2860m) - 5 hours

After breakfast, head towards Ghorepani Village with gradual ups and downs. The name Ghorepani was derived from “Ghodepani” (Ghode means horse and Pani means water) as this place used to be a supplier of drinking water to horses of ancient traders of the north region. Overnight stay at Trekker’s Lodge.

Day 11Ghorapani to Tikhedhunga (1480m) - 7 hours

Early morning hike to Poonhill (3,210m) for about two hours. Enjoy Panoramic sunrise views over the mountains Macchapuchre, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri and whole Annapurna range around. Back to lodge for breakfast and enjoy a short excursion of Ghorepani Village. Continue trek to Ulleri Village for lunch, move step downhill through thousands of stone staircases downhill exploring local villages, tea houses, green hills and rivers. Cross a small suspension bridge to reach to Tikhedhunga. Overnight stay at Trekker’s Lodge.

Day 12Tikhedhunga to Pokhara - 4 hours

Start trek after breakfast for about 2 hours to reach Nayapul. Further, drive another 2 hours to reach Pokhara. Evening time for self excursion to Lake Side and local market. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 13Pokhara Sightseeing

After breakfast, Pokhara local sightseeing. Visit Mountain Museum, Davis fall, Guptshwor Cave, Boating in Fewa Lake for about 1 hour. Evening time free for self excursion. Overnight stay at hotel.
