The “River of Gold” crosses Nepal from the Himalaya to the plains over 270 km, through remote villages and big-volume rapids. One of the classic river expeditions of the world.
The expedition starts at Dolalghat, 3 hours east of Kathmandu. The first days are gentle; the rapids build in size in the middle section of the river, with big-volume Class IV–V water. The trip ends at Chatara on the eastern plains, with a flight from Biratnagar or a drive back to Kathmandu.
